InterContinental Hotel - The Best and Only Entrance into Chicago's Magnificent Mile

A sophisticated hotel, which holds a rich history since the roaring 20's, and the only hotel with an entrance opening into the all-time famous Magnificent Mile - the InterContinental has been my family and I's "go-to"hotel for the past twenty years.

The InterContinental has everything to offer during your stay, from a junior Olympic-Sized Pool to expansive views of Downtown Chicago from your room. With an on-site Starbucks and home to the famous Michael Jordan's Steakhouse - you definitely won't go hungry here!

Room Service for everything from late night cookies and milk to an afternoon snack of pizza and chips & dip, to an early morning wake-up call of fluffy buttermilk pancakes - the hotel has your every want and need covered.

Tour of Our Room

During our weekend visit, we stayed in one of the King Executive suites. On the 32nd floor, above the busy streets of Chicago, we had a view like none other; from the Chicago Riverwalk (yes, where they dye it green every St. Patty's Day), to the heart of the Magnificent Mile - there isn't a view this hotel does not cover.

Whether you're here with your significant other, kids, or friends there is something for all. Starting with a large room that included two full bathrooms, a living room and a bedroom equipped with tv's, snacks, and plenty of space - you will be perfectly comfortable during your stay.

What's to Offer:

If you the views, room, and food weren't enough, I have even more to share with you! The amenities of the hotel are nothing shy of topnotch. In particular, one of the many I took advantage of during my weekend stay was the three-story fitness center. Whether you're weight training, looking for cardio equipment, or wanting TRX bands and punching bags to relieve some stress - they have it all covered.

One that will make any kid, or adult love is the junior Olympic sized pool. On the 14th floor, this pool was built back in the 1920's and is one of the oldest pools you will swim at in all of Chicago - and even in the world! With new movies playing every Saturday night, a sauna, and a depth up to 10 feet, you just may find yourself never wanting to leave.

If you're like me, you like your morning fix of coffee. It's as easy as heading down the elevator and walking into Starbucks at the InterContinental. Every morning, in spite of the negative five degree conditions, we were able to stay warm in the comfort of our hotel and enjoy our coffee by the fireplaces and take in the notable aesthetics of the hotel.
